Our story begins in 1881, when lumber magnate John DuBois founded a thriving boomtown amid Pennsylvania’s vast forests. From sawmills and log trains to a bustling community, DuBois grew into a borough and later a city, fueled by innovation and hard work. Today, with around 19,000 residents – if consolidation efforts between DuBois and Sandy Township move forward – the spirit of unity endures, promising even brighter collaboration ahead.

Interstate 80 bisects our area, providing nine convenient exits that connect travelers to our welcoming hospitality, vibrant retail scene, and diverse industries. This accessibility has fueled economic growth, creating jobs and drawing visitors from afar while sustaining our local charm.
