An outdoor enthusiast’s dream, the area surrounding DuBois is heavily forested and filled with game. Abundant wildlife includes whitetail deer, bear, turkeys and the majestic wild elk which roam our forests. Hunting and fishing are popular activities.

As part of the Pennsylvania Wilds, local woodlands conceal a multitude of lakes and with five state parks in the vicinity, there’s no shortage of camping, hiking, canoeing and swimming.

The Treasure Lake community consists of over 2,000 homes, plus it is the hub of the region’s active lifestyle. The resort features two lakes, one of which attracts powerboats, personal watercraft, waterskiing and tubing, a full marina and more. Bimini, the quiet lake, is for kayaks, sailing and boats with less than 9.9 hp motors.

Golfers have many excellent courses to select from, including two PGA-rated 18-hole courses in the Treasure Lake community.

Baseball is a passion of many Greater DuBois residents. Our impressive stadium, Showers Field, is home to a variety of baseball teams on the high school, college and amateur league levels. Heindl Field is specially designed to accommodate players with special needs, which provides local residents the opportunity to play in the Miracle League. The field is also used by a variety of softball teams at the high school and college level.

Enjoy the arts? Check out the Winkler Gallery of Fine Art, offering access to the work of many regional artists. Explore Downtown DuBois and enjoy our unique collection of shops, galleries, and events, including craft shows and seasonal festivals. There’s DuBois Community Days followed by Church in the Park in June, the Grapes and Hops Walk downtown wine tasting in September, farmers markets, parades, festivals, fairs, art appreciation, and much more.
